I thought, therefore I twittered:

• Slept for more than 10 hours -- must have needed it! Cats are disappointed in me, but then they always are, pretty much.
• I favorited a YouTube video -- Hands-Only CPR - Hand Walker bit.ly/1b50d2

It's actually a PSA for hands-on CPR, but it features a really talented handstand walker.

• Watching #SGU from last night, they're finally hitting their stride, best opening yet!

Some good character work, finally hitting their stride I think.  Cynically perhaps, I think the producers need to kill off their characters a few times before they get familiar enough.  Being SF, though, they can undo the deaths and get on with the business of writing them....

• It is rainy rainy RAINY outside. Good day to catch up with TV and reading.
• Oooh -- going to a holiday fair in Wakefield, at least for a little while. Off to the races!
• Got a really cool set of trays at the Holiday Fair (which was more of a church sale than vendors/flea market). For $2, very cool & useful.

On a tip from cindywrites, vwbug & I went off to a cute sale at a church in v-dub's new home town (she just moved to an adorable little apartment) which was very importantly all inside, because of the aforesaid RAIN (the remains of Hurricane Ida), but this was a HYUUUGE church full of gyms and meeting rooms and all that.  Raffles, gift baskets, food.  After, we went by a local diner and I had a Very Late Breakfast (the best kind).

• Unseen Academicals is the kind of book that you keep checking how many pages are left to reassure that there's more to come. #Pratchett
• Running out of gas, will probably not finish the Pratchett book tonight... But therefore something to look forward to tomorrow!

That was 9:30ish.  I guess the stress -- AKA eustress, the "good" kind of stress -- is catching up with me.  Job interview, networking, much successful friendly interaction.  Plus, oh yeah school finally, completely ending this week.  No pressure there, not at all.

PSA: Pushing Daisies shows the last of three episodes tonight at 10 PM.  Can't miss TV for me, even as I mourn the series being cancelled all over again.

Slept late courtesy of muscle relaxant, woken in the night by Chumley getting his neck stuck in a plastic bag handle!

Oh, the catmanity!  However, the path of his distress was only from one side of the bedroom to the other, where he went to earth under the bed with most of the large -- it was a big stiff plastic DSW bag -- bag sticking out, so freeing him didn't even involve me getting out of bed, really, just leaning off the edge.

I suspect he's jealous of all the attention that Spare Cat has been getting this week.

I would Rail Against Fate, Woe. Woe conspiring me for not having corn flakes to eat, but in fact it was ME forgetting to buy them yesterday.

I'm finding that being deprived of my rightful Corn Flakes after not being able to eat them for so long has made me more desirous of making up for lost breakfasts.

Am well on my way to remembering how ActionScript works. What a relief!

It's surprising how a couple of months of Doing Other Things can make one rusty.  On the bright side, my mastery of OOP makes some things with the Flash programming much easier to predict and control.

I still have my work cut out for me to get what I want to do all spiffy and professional, but I can see how it's going to work, and that's a big relief indeed.

Oh good loooord!  The original video was ridiculously operatic and crack-addled Over The Top and full of bizarro images like wrestlers and ninjas and football players in what looks like a boys prep school with the singer raising her arms Evita-like, and big hair and raccoon-eye makeup and unexplained wisps of red silk scarves blowing in through windows.  Add in a new soundtrack where a sound-alike singer  comments on the goings-on, and I pretty  much can't watch this with food or drink anywhere in the vicinity, because it would leap into my mouth and make me spit-take.  The comic timing/dialogue between image and commentary is very very good.

The problem with this school schedule is that the day after I have 8 hours of class, the second session running to 10 PM on Mondays, I've got to turn around and get to class by 8:30 AM the next day. Thank goodness for caffeine pills, is all I can say....

This time for sure... I can view it on YouTube for sure, and so should you be able to....

The first time I converted it to a .MOV file and YouTube don't seem to play that, but went back to the native .ASF format that my Zire recorded. Not as smooth as the .MOV file, but at least you can see the action. Such as it is.

Not that turtles are that exciting. Not exactly your charismatic megafauna. More like your slow-moving but determined minifauna. I suspect that there are lady turtles awaiting a love tryst up in those woods. There was a certain gleam in those turtly eyes....

Gummi Bears in Atlantis... another feral vid. This one is a bit jerky, at least playing on my computer, but it's worth it for a theme song that the show really really should use. (Warning: I see quite a bit of footage from late S3, though I don't think you'll get much in the way of plot points from it)

I've also spent my morning reading up a bit on the pygmy rabbits just released back into the wild in Washington State. I think the problem really is that they're just. too. cute. to. live. No, seriously.

(The kicker is that originally they didn't breed well, which is un-rabbitlike in the extreme, but biologists think that they had ended up too inbred, so crossed them over with a related species from Idaho, and now they're, well, breeding like rabbits again.)

My ongoing struggle with a working AVI file for Heroes Ep 17 still goes on. I can only find one on the torrents with a coding that is "xVid-FPN" and I just can't run it -- not just with Quicktime, but also ever-trusty VLC and DIVx Player. Feh.
