Amazing!!! As I walked out of the Davis Square T Station, who should be walking in but [livejournal.com profile] brooklinegirl--? That almost never happens to me, that I run into somebody in real life, even if they live in the same town as me. It was so nice to chat with her in person!

I have made no plans for the weekend. I'm feeling far too disorganized to actually plan anything out, which is sad-making, because I know Kristen's big party is in CT this weekend. I'm feeling completely paralyzed about it.

Part of it's just the depression left over from earlier in the week, when I was coming down from the high of seeing [livejournal.com profile] heuradys and meeting [livejournal.com profile] sisterwolf and [livejournal.com profile] doll_revolution, and part of it is just plain old-fashioned exhaustion.

I wrote like six pages of fiction today. At least that seems to be picking up again. I've had to pick up another blank journal so that my hand-writing fic can continue -- I've got about five or six pages left in the current! That's like using up an entire journal in six weeks!

And I started on one of my ficlets last night, though when I'll finish it... well, I'm going to give it the old school try, anyway.

No, definitely not talking myself out of the depression tonight....

Thinking about the way John Kerry was presented last night -- he's George W. Bush, the way the son of a prominent family who attended elite schools like Yale, has real religious faith, served in the military with distinction, sought political office, et cetera, should have turned out.

I could certainly live with that, even if I grumble a whole lot about political compromises he makes and complain that he isn't left enough. Because he ain't the political sock puppet that Dick Cheney is ruining America with.

Ganked from [livejournal.com profile] debg, an article in the New York Observer, because one online friend asked about the scarce truths in a THK-defaming letter going around:

Scaife’s Hired Hack Deserved Teresa’s Ire

Meanwhile, Ms. Kerry herself is hardly exempt from the angry fantasies emanating from Mr. Scaife’s strange universe. Last spring, a Scaife-funded "research group" sent out a study that accused her of covertly financing violent radicals of various kinds, including Islamists, through the straitlaced Heinz foundations that she controls. There was absolutely no basis for that tale—as the right-wing sleuths could have learned by making a single phone call. The Heinz money they had "traced" through a San Francisco group had actually gone in its entirety to support anti- pollution projects in Pennsylvania.
