Ganked last from
fabby -- a lot of questions about right here and right now:
warning: contains snark
1: Grab the book nearest to you, turn to page 18, find line 4. Write down what it says:
"Web user may be added to ACL lists and assigned a "role"
2: Stretch your left arm out as far as you can. What do you touch first?
My beloved Brookstone noise-reducing headphones, now sadly broken because a small piece of plastic snapped and they won't stay on my head.
3: What is the last thing you watched on TV?
Six Feet Under, S1 DVD, episode 6 or 7 maybe -- Dave goes to a club with his younger boyfriend, runs into Keith, Mom accidentally takes some Ecstasy and trips out on a camping trip, Jesse's younger brother accidentally kills himself with a handgun.
4: WITHOUT LOOKING, guess what time it is:
2:43 PM
5: Now look at the clock, what is the actual time?
2:40 PM -- wow, I thought I'd be off, and much earlier. The afternoon is moving much more slowly than it should.
6: With the exception of the computer, what can you hear?
The Beatles playing on KDRadio, which I'm getting off the Internet. It's in the 80s in Grants NM today....
7: When did you last step outside? What were you doing?
Walked over to Pho Pasteur on Newbury Street, but their AC wasn't working and their outside tables were all full, so we walked over to the Pru and got food from the Qdoba Grille -- I had tortilla soup, so spicy that it made my nose run.
8: Before you came to this web site, what did you look at?
Buffistas.org, where nobody picked up on my Millenium reference.
9: What are you wearing?
Blue-green knit top from L.L.Bean, eggplant khaki-cloth pants with a fancy gathered waist that I've had from before I left Lotus, so they're at least 13 years old. Teva sandals.
10: Did you dream last night?
I vaguely recall a weird-ass dream about trying to get a gift for
brooklinegirl though strangely porn wasn't involved.
11: When did you last laugh?
I'm sure Harry-the-coworker said many funny things on our Lunch Odyssey but damn if I can recall them.
12: What is on the walls of the room you are in?
I'm in my cubicle, so there are a whole lot of cat pictures from the last two years of Workman's Cat-A-Day calendar, plus real cat pictures, plus a crop-circle calendar I purchased in Avebury last December.
13: Seen anything weird lately?
There was Reston the Rooster on my street! See earlier entry today!
14: What is the last film you saw?
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, at the Imax theatre in Framingham.
16: If you became a multi-millionaire overnight, what would you buy first?
A bigger house with a driveway, garage, fireplace, and more than one bathroom!
17: Tell me something about you that I don't know.
My mom sweet-talked me into going to a modeling school when I was 17.
18: If you could change one thing about the world, regardless of guilt or politics, what would you do?
Off the top of my head, undo the attacks on 9/11/2001. Aside from the horrible loss of life that day, it has had some really bad local and world-wide effects.
19: Do you like to dance?
Yes, and I never get a chance to do it.
20: George Bush?
I hate him considerably more than Julia Roberts. If I had anything like psychic powers, his head would have exploded about four years ago.
21a: Imagine your first child is a girl, what do you call her?
Sidney Valancy -- after my grandfather, and a favorite character from the "People" stories by Zenna Henderson
21b: Imagine your first child is a boy, what do you call him?
Hey You -- well, no particular favorite boy names here. I'd be trying to balance too much popularity (not anything in the top 50) versus having a name that would get him beat-up on the playground....
22: Would you ever consider living abroad?
Oh yeah! Too bad the opportunity hasn't come along yet.
