Some news stories just make you shake your head: Texas Housewife Arrested For Selling Vibrator

that is just...silly. wow. how can it possibly be illegal to sell a vibrater?

I'm just speechless.

One wonders how these people define obscenity.

Not even street-corner hawking, but offering a legal product (at least last time I checked) to a couple who specifically expressed interest in it.

Sheesh.

::rolling eyes:: I live in Texas, and this seems pretty outrageous to me. I would imagine the whole thing will be dropped for being plain stupid, but you never know.

It's illegal to sell any vibrator that doesn't have a "face" on it in TX. Seriously. Because it's an "adult novelty" if it's something with a "face" and animals and whatever on it. But, without - if it's realistic? It's obscene and an arrestable offense.

Ask [livejournal.com profile] athenadiva, she'll tell you that it's true!

So it's less obscene to use a vibrator covered with smiley faces or cute fuzzy animals than to use one without them?

The mind boggles.

In Texas, yes. Amazing, isn't it?
