Choose Frannie, Go Frannie

Let's see

1. Page 205, I've finished up a Frannie-centric scene which currently I'm quite in love with, since she's quite fun and full of surprises. I think that seeing all of the Season 1 and 2 episodes helped a whole lot to get a bead on her character, and it's just my luck that a) I got this really cool BADASS Frannie icon just days ago and b) Laura Shapiro released a lovely Frannie-centric vid this week.

What's strange is that I was having trouble gearing up for the next big sequence in the story -- where they actually find out what's behind the body swap and how to go about reversing it, but I found myself blocking on getting it started, so I cast around for a quick bit of 'what are the other characters doing' and found that what I thought would be a quick little interchange of quips between Frannie and Ray turned into a really cool conversation that actually moved other elements of the story along. It's like my subconscious was trying to tell me something.

2. Had my friend Gail over to watch Angel tonight, so there was quite a bit of kamikaze cleaning when I got home, all to the betterment of the house, I might add. I sent out for Chinese food, and we watched an episode of Stargate beforehand -- "Tangent", from the fourth season, where Jack and Teal'c get stranded in space in a runaway death glider, and Carmen Argenziano has to ride to the rescue. We finished just a couple minutes after 9 PM, and Gail got worried that we'd missed the beginning of Angel, so I had to review for her how a TiVo works, and that in fact it had started recording promptly at the correct time without my doing anything.

And hey, it was a tight, taut episode, too, maybe my favorite of the season so far. (Except there wasn't enough Lorne, who gets a tiny little cameo and nothing more. Has he even gotten to sing so far this season?)

3. When Nature Attacks -- okay, not so much attacks as ambles around. Walking home last night at 7 PM, first I noticed bats whirling around a streetlight up near the top of my street, then halfway down, a skunk scampers -- well, more like a quick amble which for a skunk is high speed -- across the street in front of me.

Either that, or a really really deformed and smelly cat, anyway.

Looks like we get lots of Lorne next week, though.

Yeah, terrific episode, and I'm betting we haven't seen the last of the Reaper, given that Wolfram & Hart isn't quite as perfect on stuff as they'd like to believe.

Loved the panther and Gunn. He makes a much better lawyer than gang leader, imho.

Have I mentioned I absolutely adore Spike? And not just because he's drop dead gorgeous. It's that wit the writers put in his mouth. And the way he shows so many layers of character even when he's not saying anything. Marsters really deserves an Emmy nod one of these years.
