• 08:17 Mom is complaining about needing to pee every hour last night. What did she think a powerful diuretic would do? #



• 08:18 Not that Mom complaining is a bad thing -- you know she's going to live if you hear her complain. #



• 10:16 Must face today's tasks of arranging for housekeeping, powered chair rental, messy details. Brother bullied Mom into eating breakfast. #



• 13:30 Set up a home services evaluation for tomorrow, so we can get Mom started with some housekeeping support, et cetera. #



• 22:28 Watched KINKY BOOTS on BBCA... why has it taken me so long to see this? #

Kinky Boots turned out to be the bright point in the day, even if I had to watch it in little slices as I ran over to Mom and brother in another room whenever there was a commercial, so I probably saw a good 90%. I definitely need to see it again on DVD, preferably with commentary and a featurette about the shoes they made for the movie.

(I've had Ejiofor singing "I Want To Be Bad" on my iTunes for ages now -- I don't know what wonderful friend gifted me with it -- so it was a thrill to see it performed by him. Now I must legally acquire the entire soundtrack....)

Mom continues to make slow improvement -- got up for most of the afternoon and evening with us. We had a home visit with a social worker to set in motion some stuff and get her into their system. The Home Services lady comes this morning.

Most interesting suggestion she had was to get rid of the two little glass coffee tables, because they're a MAJOR falling hazard. She has personally had a client who fell through a glass-topped table and got STUCK there for a couple of hours. So I'll go shop for some fabric-covered hassocks today at Target or wherever to replace them.

I'm hoping to go home -- at least for a while -- on Thursday, weather and the arrival of my semi-infirm aunt depending. I think, under the circumstances, I'm not complaining a whole lot, you know?

Isn't Kinky Boots great? (I have a lust on for those boots, in deep brown.) And Ejiofor just keeps turning in these wonderful performances -- the person he is in Kinky Boots is someone the Operative in Serenity wouldn't look at twice as worthwhile.

You're continuing to do the right thing -- I personally don't like glass-topped coffee tables and occasional tables, particularly since a long-ago co-worker slipped off a stepstool, put her foot through a glass tabletop, and sliced open a major artery in her leg.

Kinky Boots is one of my favorites. Ejiofor is a really great actor. I have seen him in many roles now that I look for him.

Wonder if Netflix has the DVD on sale? Hmm...
