Snowpocalypse Now
1. Proof that there's a silver lining to every Snowpocalypse: work closed early at 3 PM, so I've been home for the past hour or so, after a much better commute than I had expected, including trains and trolleys and buses showing up right when they should.
Also, Somerville declared a Snow Emergency at 10 AM, so the crews are visibly out and about keeping the roads in order. This is turning out to be a much better Giant Killer Blizzard than the last one.
2. It was 70 degrees Fahrenheit two mornings ago, and there's at least two inches of snow out there now, with more to come. Welcome Spring in Massachusetts! (I saw two small crocuses on Wednesday.)
3. Thanks to a timely heads up, I have Stargate images for Adium's dock icon, which irises when you're "busy" and shows the event horizon surge when it opens. Too. cute. for. words.
I also got a Stargate alert sounds set, but I think the novelty of the whooshes (and the occasional "Jaffa kree!") will pale quickly. Still... cute little Stargate!
