From Beautiful Downtown Burbank....
Just a quick note to say that I made it to LA after some airline stress... self-caused in this case, though it was an honest mistake as opposed to an over-optimistic opinion on how long it would take to get to the airport, et cetera. The airline put me on another flight(s) without charging me anything extra, anyway, but it made a stressful day all that much more stressful.
But I arrived, and my ride was there to pick me up, and I got to see a bunch of highways, plus walk around Griffith Park (where the [closed for renovations] observatory is) which is very cool, plus then get to go to a friends' apartment for dinner and much good conversation with old and new friends.
But it is very very late by my internal clock, and I got up at 5:30 AM with very little sleep. It's only fumes of excitement that are keeping me going here, time to get flat already.

I'm so sad I'm missing out on the fun -- hope everyone has detailed reports next week. . . if you aren't all too tired to put finger to keyboard.
