I thought about creating a poll, but I'm pretty sure now that my choice between a) going to yoga tonight or b) going to the informational presentation about saving energy in your home is going to swing yogaward.

I've been aching like an achey thing all day -- from the moment I woke up at 5:30 AM and couldn't quite get back to sleep. I got up and filled up my hot water bottle, and laid it on my legs where they were aching the worst and that helped some, as did the long hot shower I dragged myself out of bed to take. In fact, it was surprising how much energy I had first thing in the morning -- I not only got all the current garbage out, but I carried up most of the bags leftover from the basement cleaning last month, and then carried down some of the cruft from my Mom's from the week before, like the old Singer sewing machine in its wooden case.

My energy has been pretty good all day, surprising when you consider that I only got 5.5 hours of sleep. I've been tempted many times to say "phooey" to the Week of No Painkillers, but have resisted out of sheer stubbornness. This is why I'm inclined to go to yoga, as the exercise may release some of those endorphins all the cool kids are talking about these days....

You threw away an old Singer sewing machine in a wooden case? Did I read that right?

No -- I needed to rewrite that sentence a bit, but I'm too tired. :-( No, I carefully placed the old sewing machine in a high, dry place of honor in the basement. That's one hell of a rugged machine, made out of cast-iron, and will probably survive an atom bomb along with the starlings and cockroaches....

Whew! Because I was going to say, "Dude! Those things are worth big bucks!" My mom had an old Singer sewing machine with the foot pedal. She could make that thing go!

P.S. If you had a poll, I'd have probably clicked "Go to yoga", it might make you feel a bit better.

I know some SCA seamstresses who would love to get their hands on one of those old Singer machines if you ever decide you don't have room for it.

Must search to see if I still have the old Clarke sewing machine. Cast iron, etc. hmmm.
