Cleaning Out The Car...
First of all, you can accumulate a whole lot of crap in approximately 8 years of car ownership. Like a whole new 20" windshield wiper and a set of 18" wiper refills. I have a sneaking suspicion that they were from the car before this one.
Also the cassettes in the car seem to have bred. I regret to say that none of them are The Best of Queen -- would a Best of for The Art of Noise count?
veejane was kind enough to drive me over there to help with the moral support and totage, was heard to remark that I must have the heaviest jumper cables in the history of automobiles. It's true that I got extra-long ones... kind of inevitable when you tend to forget and leave your lights on every six months or so, so at least I'm prepared to deal with it. (Not to mention the AAA membership.)
I'm currently trying to convince myself that the big atlas of state maps I have from 1984 is OK to throw out. Not only is it missing the cover, but half of NJ is long long gone. And I hear there's a whole lot of new highways -- not to mention towns and cities -- built in the past 21 years. ::frets::
I forgot one really vital thing back at the car: the license plate. So I will need another ride out there, and if you're a local-type person with a car I make
at you. The tow yard is just over the Everett line from here, just past the Mystic River and the power station on Rt 99, so it's actually kind of a quick jaunt....
OK, back to packing up all the stuff I brought back. See, there are all these nice empty shelves in the basement now that I can pack things away neatly until I acquire another car.

Have I mentioned that my iPod is named Aziraphale? Because you can't name something white after a demon.
And, yes, you do need to lose the 1984 Atlas, at least as anything other than an interesting historical artifact, and who has room to store those?
Sorry about the car, btw. I don't think I said that before.

At least the thieves didn't take them. I lost my almost brand new, still in the box, jumper cables when my car got stolen. Like a total dummy, when that car got totaled, I went over to the garage where I had it towed and got my stuff out of it, all but my umbrella. Oy.
