Scarfing it up
Aside from there being no word on my poor poor car, the day went well enough -- I was feeling enough better that I walked over to my standing therapy appointment in Davis Square, stopped to buy straight #8 needles, and hardly coughed at all. So I feel well enough to go into work tomorrow.
In the meantime, I've been knitting up a storm... I've really got the lace pattern down on the Orenberg Scarf. I'm putting on a safety pin to the edge every four rows -- and a big one when the pattern starts repeating -- to keep track of where I am, since it's a large repeat with frequent changes.
The yarn is a delightful blend of mohair and silk, so it's so very soft, and yet rather strong. This scarf is going to catch on everything, I fear, but it may be worth it in the end.

| Orenberg Scarf Final Progress This is kind of a blotchy photo in this light, but it should give you the idea of the color and shape, as well as how far I've gotten. I'm still on the first skein..... |

Sorry there's been no word on the car, though. Frustrating.
Also, I haven't forgotten about the basement. I've just been swamped. Hopefully this weekend...
