coughcoughcough

Alas, my cold worsened through Sunday, after having receded to an occasional throat-scratchiness during the wedding on Saturday. R brought home some Red Sudafed with Antihistamine, which does dry me up, but the Anti part really puts me to sleep. Plus I've started coughing this morning. Such joy, such fun.

You know what the worst part of this stage of a cold is? The boredom -- not feeling really well enough to get into something complicated like writing, too wobbly to sit up and watch anything involving, and far too scattered to manage knitting.

For small things, let us be thankful, like the prospect of getting better, and a small cache of plain Red Sudafed that I just ran across, even if it's not strong enough for the cold at this point.

In the meantime, I'm planning knitting projects and surfing the web, inbetween naps with the cats....

I'm so sorry you're ill! I hope you get better very soon. Napping with cats is very therapeutic.

Baseball is excellent background for groggy quasi-napping! As I have had occasion to find out. Alas that tennis is over, because I think that would probably be good too.

napping

I find that the Food Channel is also a good background for napping, unless the host who's on is one of the ones I can't stand. Also, they taught me how to make ginger tea, which I find to be very soothing--you take a 4-inch segment of ginger root, slice it lengthwise into 4 or 5 pieces, and put it in a saucepan with 2 cups of water, bring to a boil, then cover and simmer for 15 minutes. Pour the liquid through a strainer (which removes all the bits of skin, so you don't have to peel the ginger beforehand), and add sugar to taste. It's very nice for a scratchy throat. Should I come over and make some for you?
