Sheep or Lemming, You Decide!

Ganked from [livejournal.com profile] dsudis:

01: Take a screencap of your desktop.

To cap a desktop:
1) Press "Print Screen" (prt sc) button
2) Open your graphics program-o-choice
3) Press CTRL + V
4) Save image as a JPEG

02: Upload the screen cap to your image server.

03: Reply to this entry with a link to your screencap. Along with any explanations you feel are necessary.

04: Post your cap in YOUR LJ along with these instructions.

Here's mine.

Um...
how do you upload the screen cam to an image server? What's an imager server?

I was going to post the exact same question.

Ah -- if they said 'online photo gallery' instead of 'image server' it might be less confusing!

So what the instructions are saying is that you upload the picture file to an image server. As it happens, you can now upload them directly to LiveJournal (if you have a paid account) or use something like Yahoo Photos instead.

LJ has a decent interface for uploading -- go to the LJ command bar and choose "Journal" and then "Pictures", and then choose "Manage" from the tab inside that screen. The first set of boxes you see in the resulting screen will let you upload.

Then you open the picture you've uploaded, copy the URL and paste it in here:

I do have a paid LJ account.

Aha. The last time I checked in the FAQ and tried to figure out how to upload pictures, I understood their instructions to mean I needed some place away from LJ but still out of the Web to store the pictures first. But that was at the end of our trip out West last summer. I guess I need to get curious and read FAQ stuff again.

The picture is CSS Alabama vs. USS Kearsarge, for poetic inspiration more or less.
