(no subject)
I wrote an Angel drabble today! To my amazement, it came in at 101 words in rough draft... and then I tinkered, so it went a little bit up, and then a little bit back down. It was for the
sunday100 BTVS/Angel drabble community, and it was posted over there, but since there are a LOT of drabbles and mine's sinking down to the bottom/off the screen, I figured I'd repost it over here.
The subject this week is Movies, and of course I immediately thought of Angel recast for The Maltese Falcon, which would actually be pretty damn cool, come to think of it.
Play It Again, Lilah
Lilah spotted him in the bar mirror, all stubble and leather jacket. “Down these mean streets walks a man who is not himself mean,” she quoted as she swung around to display herself at her best: rolled hair, killer lipstick, silk dress slit to here, rolled stockings, killer shoes.
Wesley smiled haunted sadness. “Sam Spade turned in Brigid O’Shaughnessy. Perhaps you’d prefer Rick Blaine?”
“And you stand by while I fly to France? I’d rather the intrigue with the fat man, and Joel Cairo, and ‘the stuff that dreams are made of.’”
“The ending could use some work,” Wesley said.
I would pay good money to hear Stephanie Romanov speak that quote....
