Would you believe I went to sleep last night tired enough that I forgot to check the current score? I ascribe it in part to my instinctive knowledge that the Sox could not possibly win the World Series.

I'm still not 100% sure that Derek Jeter won't fly around the Earth backwards and reverse the pennant win....

I first read that as "Mourning in Red Sox Nation" and thought, "What the hell are you mourning for, today of all days!?"
