Two things:
1) I was poking around on suprnova to see if there were any Degrassi episodes available (no) and accidentally found that Wonderfalls episode 10 is available!
2) Proving once again that I exist in my own little world, with little reference to dates, or even days of the week, the fact that it was Friday and thus my next-to-last chance to rec something for
ds_flashback utterly passed me by. I suppose I can rec late, but at the moment, I'm utterly without inspiration... does anybody have a particular favorite that they know has been somehow overlooked?
Oh, third thing: I woke up with a headache that hasn't quite gone away all day, despite the attempting of various remedies, including a hot shower and the eating of medium-hot salsa which is usually enough to induce runny nose syndrome. Feh.

I suppose it is on one of those 'you need an mpeg3 player', or technology that is beyond me at this point in my life. I am just getting to the point where I can change my TV over to play DVDs.
I don't mean that I am getting stupider, just no get up and git to learn new stuff for the nonce. (whine)

These are indeed MPG files, so they're meant to be played on a computer. Theoretically they can be converted to VCDs that can be played on regular DVD players, but their quality is naturally not as good as DVDs. I need to look into how you do this conversion....
Nic could doubtless set you up with bittorrent and all, it's not something that I can explain because I barely understand it myself. Except that it ran the first time I installed it without any special settings -- I'm just lucky that it's compatible with W2KPro.

As for a rec, I tried to find a list for all the fic that's been recced, but could not find a complete one. I paged back quite a ways and checked out wave one and two. I did not see mention of AuK's Waiting to Fall anywhere though, it's one of my very favorites. It can be found here;

And I am sorry to hear about your head! That is just not fun at all!

Thanks for the suggestion -- I do believe that's been recced before. JustaCat has a great resource, her collection of what's-been-recced-where:
http://justacat.slashcity.org/DS/DSMainPage.html
which the "official" guidelines for ds_flashback suggest checking there to figure out what's been recced to ds_flashback. The idea is also that the Flashback should concentrate on under-recommended but worthy stories -- so seeing that, say, "Shell Games" by Rowan has been recommended by just about everybody under the sun makes me hesitate to put it up, even if I do adore it utterly.

I hit JaC's rec site right after searching through ds_flashback. The fic was mentioned, but it has not been recced anywhere. That info might just be outdated though *BG*.
