BIG ASS WARNING, SERIOUS!

Don't CLICK on anything labelled "This is very interesting" if you see it on anybody's LJ today. There's a password-stealing thing going around, and that's it.

Umm, T? You may want to delete this post. I clicked on the link and it posted "This is very interesting" to MY journal. I'm now feeling extremely paranoid & will change my LJ password. Yikes.

Yeah, I just had the same problem -- it auto-entries the damn thing. I've corrected my post, as you can see now. I did it as quick as I could but it still takes a while.

Thank you for posting this. I was *just* about to click on one when I saw your warning.

How does it work?

Yeah, now I want to see it to figure it out.

It's still around on my friends' list, if you really want to track it down. I was warned that it could steal your password -- it does seem to use some sort of javascript to masquerade as you and make the entry in your name, perhaps with your own login, so the password may not be tagged at all. But I'm not familiar with how LJ deals with persistent passwords and I can imagine scenarios where it could be harvestable.... so I'm not taking a chance.

The sausage thing auto enters itself into a person's journal. Is it a password stealer, too?

I'm not sure -- see my comment to DX and ita above this entry. I'm in the Better Safe Than Sorry camp.

Me, too. I deleted the sausage entry, and changed my password, just in case.

You mean this thing, right?

Don't worry, I did NOT enter my username into that stupid thing!
