The Search For Smut
Piemur has been delivered. Merryl has the simplest system in the world for pilling him. They're quite small (for hyperthyroid) so she takes one of the smooshy Pounce hairball treatment treats, pushes the pill inside it, and tosses it at him along with a couple of non-pilled treats. He gulps them all down! I have to remember this dodge for future pilling situations -- cat medicine tends to come in very small pills, which I suppose shouldn't be surprising considering that cats are small and are going to need small doses.
I seem to have amused several greeting card shop employees today. I knew better than to cruise by Hallmark, but I felt sure Copley Flair would have some homoerotic cards that would be suitable for sending to slasher friends. It can't be so long ago that I was often stumbling across Mapplethorpe-like images on greeting cards? I mean, really! But I was let down -- there were a couple of birthday cards that had near naked guys in suggestive poses, but anything like a Thank You or blank card? Even after I asked the clerks and they were running around happily, bringing me what few images they could turn up. I really appreciate the effort, I do, but geeze.
They suggested I try the ICA (Institute of Contemporary Art) up the street so maybe I will go by there soon-ish, on the theory that they might have some actual Mapplethorpe cards there. Or find out where the one gay bookstore in Boston moved to....
In the meantime, somebody is getting a Thank You card with... fluffy cats having a tea party! I swear, in my heart, it's two hot guys in a passionate lip-lock, but it was either send it now or at some future date when I can find the right card, and it's now that it would be appropriate, damn it.
(Now, of course, having sent off the card, tomorrow I will stumble across a hole in the wall shop that sells nothing but homoerotic cards, or its equivalent. Just you watch.)
