theodosia: (yum yum face)

Saturday

It being a gloriously warm, and sometimes sunny day here, I opened up the back porch, which has been locked up for all these many winter months. Who should appear downstairs, bypassing the bowl of Forbidden Cat Food that my roommate left down last night, but Yum Yum, intrepidly going out to investigate?

I got my dressing changed by the doctors yesterday -- they gave me the option of coming back (with no charge, hurrah!) in for that, so after realising that I wasn't nearly as well set up to do it as them, and that I'd really much rather have a pair of trained eyes to look at the wound.

It was totally anticlimatic, of course, but that's good when you're dealing with anything medical. There's no need to keep any packing inside the empty cyst, so I just have to keep a bandage -- gauze pads for now, since it's still a bit oozy (it looks like somebody tried to stab me with a star-shaped hole punch) as it will gradually close up over the next couple of weeks. I can shower normally, as long as I remember to drip a little hydrogen peroxide in it afterwards. It's just the slightest bit more ouchy than the rest of me -- I'm actually in more discomfort than from the sticky tape to hold on the bandage. I'll be glad when I can switch over to a regular bandaid.

I really need to get out in the garden, if at least for a little while, but I'm on page 246... yes, that's 25 pages from the near-mythical finish line. Mind you, there should still be some heavy going in the beta adjustments, but perhaps I really do begin to think I will finish this!

Glad that all is progressing well with the medical stuff! (And also selfishly glad that you're so close to the finish line with Body Swap.)

So sorry about my abrupt departure from chat earlier, but my cable connection went kablooie. Then I had to figure out why our dial-up service wasn't working... *rolls eyes* Apparently it wasn't set up to dial 1+ area code for local connections, which all NYC numbers now require. Sheesh.

I figured it was something like that! Which reminds me, I'd better pay a phone bill or two around Chez Theodosia!

Again, this minor surgical thing sounds almost exactly like something I had done 3 or 4 years ago, right down to the gauze pads and taking a couple weeks to completely heal over. I can tell you that I didn't have one bit of problem with the healing up, and I hope yours goes the same way.

We're having the same wonderful, warm, sunny weather you are. When I went out to get the mail, I found Pirate had gone out on her own and was pacing the boundaries of the yard. I guess she decided it was a good day for "border patrol"!
