My Icon Breakdown
Just for the record, and because it's interesting in a completely navel-gazing way,
Let's see....
I currently have 27 icons. 5 are from Due South (1 also from a NorthWest Mounties pulp cover), 4 are from Ed Wood, 2 are from Robert Rodriguez movies, 2 are from Joss Whedon series (Buffy and Angel), 2 are from Ben Edlund series (Angel and The Tick).
11 came from movies, 8 came from TV, 3 came from personal pictures, 5 came from "other sources" such as commercial pictures.
Animals are featured or mentioned in 8 icons. Women pictured altogether are 7, although this includes 3 in the Buffy icon. One is of me.
Performers round up as follows: Callum Keith Rennie and Johnny Depp are each featured in five icons. Paul Gross is in 3. Antonio Banderas and Martin Landau are featured twice.
Genre-wise, 7 are from outright SFnal material, 6 from Magic Realist material (counting Due South and the Rodriquez movies), 7 from mimetic material (counting Ed Wood as a historical). 7 are not from fictional sources. 15 of the icons derive from source material that may be considered by some to be humorous: the Rodriquez movies, Due South, Joss Whedon series, Pirates of the Caribbean, Ed Wood and The Tick. 4 are from horror source material, but 8 if you include Ed Wood, which is a docudrama about a horror/sf movie director (which also would boost the "outright SFnal material" count above to 11).
There are 41 individual pictures of humans in the 27 icons. 21 are Americans, 15 are Canadians, 3 are British, 2 are Spanish. (There are an additional 3 American cats and 1 Canadian dog.)
I have created 11 of my icons. 5 are by
heuradys, 2 by
serasempre, 2 by
kathlaw, 1 each by
daughtershade and
slo_mo_panda. There are five made by people whose names I've lost -- (These Are Not My Fandom's Real Breasts, badass Frannie, My Fandom Likes Threesomes, My Fandom is Freaking Out and Smiling Face) and if they are reading here and recognize them, please let me know so I can credit them properly!
(Edited to add: Badass Frannie is by
heuradys, Smiling Face (from Suspicious River) is by
shellmidwife and Freaking is by
holli.)
I haven't the faintest what this all says about me, except that it's probably no surprise that I like SF and magic realism.
