Seasonal Five
1. Do you enjoy the cold weather and snow for the holidays?
Not as much now that I've committed to walking to the T in the morning, and there aren't enough people who clear their damn sidewalks. My appreciation of the White Stuff would go right up if I had some off-street parking for my car.
2. What is your ideal holiday celebration? How, where, with whom would you celebrate to make things perfect?
About ten to fifteen years ago, my family used to gather at my Aunt's house on Xmas eve, along with her two kids and their SOs, but then my brothers started having more and more little kids so they didn't fit, and they have to take the kids to their in-laws, so there's not as much central gathering any more.
3. Do you do have any holiday traditions?
Not especially. It's really the time of year when I start to miss what I don't have. I need to concentrate more on what I do, which includes some neat friends and some dearly beloved family members.
4. Do you do anything to help the needy?
"Are there no work-houses?"
No, seriously, I give to various organizations, and try to pony up at least a quarter every time I run across a Salvation Army bellringer. You've got to ring that bell loud if you want to end wars and stuff.
5. What one gift would you like for yourself?
Well, my BIG gift to myself was the trip to England, most especially the day tour of Salisbury, Avebury et al.
